A Geek’s Christmas Card

My arrival home today was greeted by a surprisingly … complex … season’s greeting card.

Outside

Inside

Can you guess my major?
And, no…I don’t speak binary.

What is “thehua” doing?

I’m sure this is a question that’s been on many (if not all) your minds lately.
Why have there been no updates for thehua.com? What’s with the “silent treatment”? …or the casual… What’s up?

Well to start it off – nothing really.

  • I’m not very busy with classes – only 12 hours
  • I don’t currently have a job
  • Pi Kapps’ calendar isn’t very full
  • I’m not watching a lot of tv
  • and…no I don’t have mono – though people around me know people who are getting it…

So what am I working on?

  • Playing silkroad (for free) – yes I hate myself too
  • Creating “art” for my art class – as can be seen from my previous posts
  • Working with chen on our entrepreneurial class+ventures
  • Doing techy stuff like configuring servers (lamp stuff), also just started learning ruby on rails
  • Playing lots of ping pong – ha how stereotypical
  • Reading
  • Drinking, eating (french bread, italian style), watching HD

So there you have it…a glimpse into my life.
Don’t get to used to it. This will probably be one of very very few “personal” posts.

Oh did I forget to mention — excited to be finishing off college and entering “the real world” in a few months. Deloitte, here I come!

Stay tuned for real content.

Cheers!

Go Longhorns (no not a MS product)

It’s been a great many years since I have been excited about college football. In fact since Illini football has been pretty much terrible since Freshman year (2002), I really haven’t felt the desire to follow it – further proven by the fact that I’ve been to only a handful of games. Great atmosphere, great I-block, terrible team, still undecided about Zook as coach.

But today almost revitalized my enthusiam towards college football when I watched the highly anticipated Rose Bowl game of Texas Longhorns vs USC Trojans. This was one hell of a high paced, semi-error bound, powered by passion game that one can only wish to watch on a day-to-day basis. This was a spectacular game.

Congratulations to the Texas Longhorns for winning their 800th game and proving that they are indeed the college football champions of 2005. Congratulations Vince Young for an amazing game.

Congratulations Texas Longhorns

Job Search

It’s that time of the year again when soon to be college graduates are pulling out their hair, staying up till 3am balancing life, driving hundreds of miles to travel from city to school to airport, and more…in order to interview and finally find that desirable first “real world” job.

Maybe you’re not going through this, maybe you are, maybe you’re just looking for an internship, maybe you want to find a new job, or maybe you’re just starting to think about working. In any case, I’ve compiled a list of my favorite (and hopefully useful) guides online to help prepare you for this fun journey.
